From K-Pop Stan to Dancing With an OG: Alex Woo x Dayoung

Alexa Woo and Dayoung

There are full-circle moments… and then there are K-pop full-circle moments.

This AAPI Month, we’re spotlighting creator wins that feel bigger than just content and one of them came when our creator Alex Woo, who we call Lex, collaborated with Dayoung for the promotion of her new song, “What’s a Girl to Do.”

Lex was asked to do a dance video with Dayoung where they are performing the choreography together. For Lex, this was more than just another creator opportunity. She grew up listening to K-pop and has been a longtime fan of groups like WJSN, making the experience feel especially surreal!

If you’ve been around K-pop dance content for a while, chances are you’ve seen Lex before. From her KCON LA 2024 Taemin Dreamstage moment to viral BTS dance covers.

She’s been posting dance covers since 2016 (truly an OG!), building a name for herself through viral dance videos.

Once the collaboration went live, Lex’s audience immediately showed up! (It really does take a village!)

A lot of her longtime followers shared how happy they were to see her get an opportunity that felt so aligned with her journey, especially knowing how long she’s been creating within the K-pop space. This just shows that Lex’s years of consistency, community, and genuine love for the culture are finally paying off!
